What Markquill is
Markquill is an exam-practice platform for A-level students. You answer real exam-style questions and get them marked against the mark scheme, so you can see exactly where your marks come from and what to fix next.
How the marking works
Multiple choice is scored the moment you answer, with a short explanation of why the right answer is right. Written answers are marked one point at a time against the question's mark scheme.
Markquill only ever awards marks that are in that scheme. It never invents its own criteria, and it never gives a mark an examiner wouldn't. The feedback then tells you, in plain English, which points you hit and which you missed.
Where the questions come from
We write every question and every mark scheme ourselves, then review them before they reach you. Each one is written to follow a specific exam board's specification and sorted by topic, so your practice matches what you'll actually sit.
We start with Cambridge International A-level Biology, Chemistry and Maths, and we're adding more subjects and boards as the question bank grows.
Honest about what it is
Markquill is a study aid. It's the practice step that turns reading into marks, and it works best alongside your lessons, your notes and past papers, not instead of them.
When it predicts a grade, it holds off until it has seen enough of your work, and it stays deliberately cautious. We don't promise grades, and we won't pretend a tool can do the revision for you.
Independent
Markquill is independent. We're not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by any awarding body, including AQA, OCR, Pearson Edexcel, WJEC/Eduqas and Cambridge International (CAIE). When we name an exam board, it's only to tell you which specification a question is written to follow.
