CAIE A Level Biology 9700 · Cell structure
A student calibrates the eyepiece graticule of a light microscope using a stage micrometer. They then use the calibrated microscope to measure the length of onion epidermis cells. Later, the same cells are viewed using a transmission electron microscope (TEM).
Define the terms magnification and resolution. Explain why the electron microscope has a greater resolution than the light microscope.
