Atoms, molecules and stoichiometry: compare question

Compare5 marksStandard

A sample contains 0.5 mol of oxygen gas, OX2\ce{O2}, and a separate sample contains 0.5 mol of helium gas, He\ce{He}. The Avogadro constant is 6.02×1023 mol−16.02 \times 10^{23}\,\mathrm{mol^{-1}}.

Compare the two samples in terms of the numbers of particles and atoms present. Refer to the Avogadro constant in your comparison.

How this question is marked

5 marks, so the mark scheme is looking for about 5 separate creditworthy points. Making the same point twice in different words earns it once.

Compare means: Give similarities or differences between two things, and say which side each point belongs to. Write each point as a pair, for example: A is X, whereas B is Y. Two separate descriptions rarely earn the marks.
